ABOUT CHIARA

Chiara Richardson is a storyteller, community advocate, and communications professional. A proud Columbus native, she is running for City Council in District 7 to keep local government responsive, practical, and focused on improving everyday life for residents. Her commitment to service began early, advocating for community issues and civic engagement while working across education, nonprofits, and community initiatives that expand opportunity and support youth development.

Chiara’s dedication to the community has been shaped by years of service, mentorship, and creative leadership. She previously worked in the Muscogee County School District, supporting students and educators in the classroom and helping young people reach their potential. She is also a founding member of Fountain City Slam, a nonprofit youth literary arts organization that brought spoken word workshops into local schools and created meaningful opportunities for young people to discover and share their voices through poetry and performance.

For nearly fifteen years, Chiara has volunteered her time and talents to teach, mentor, and inspire hundreds of young people across the tri-city area. She has served as a teaching artist in residence with The RiverCenter and has appeared in productions at The Springer Theatre, The Historic Liberty Theatre, Port Columbus, and with the Chattahoochee Shakespeare Company—using the arts to bring people together and uplift the stories of the community she proudly calls home.Through her work as an artist and advocate, Chiara has also shared her original poetry on TV ONE’s Verses & Flow, carrying the creativity and spirit of her community onto a national stage. Whether in the classroom, on stage, or in the community, her work has always centered on empowering people, strengthening neighborhoods, and ensuring every voice has a chance to be heard.

Professionally, Chiara has worked in communications and education advocacy, helping organizations improve outreach, strengthen messaging, and connect more effectively with the communities they serve. Her work has included supporting education initiatives across Georgia and working with nonprofit and civic leaders focused on expanding opportunities for students and families.

Chiara believes local government should focus on practical solutions that improve quality of life. Her focus areas include people-centered leadership, empowering local businesses, clean and safe neighborhoods, strengthening arts, culture, and access, and advancing crime prevention through strong community partnerships.

Above all, Chiara is guided by the principle that leadership begins with listening.. She is committed to meeting residents where they are, understanding the needs of the community, and working alongside neighbors to move District 7 forward. The future will be shaped by the voices of the people—and Chiara is ready to turn that vision into progress for our community.
